Department of Computer Science
Student Clubs & Organizations
The Center for Cyber Security and Emerging Technologies connects students to three clubs offering hands-on experience, mentorship, and community beyond the classroom.
Cyber Security Club
Built for students passionate about security and forensics, the Cyber Security Club prepares members for the National Cyber League, a competition that simulates real-world challenges like digital forensics, penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, and incident response. Members compete to sharpen their skills, earn recognition through NCL Scouting Reports, and help raise Bowie State's standing in the National Cyber Power Rankings.
Coding Club
The Bulldog Coders Club brings together aspiring programmers, innovators, and tech enthusiasts from across campus. Whether you're writing your first lines of code or refining an advanced skill set, the club offers a supportive space to build the technical expertise needed to compete for opportunities in high-tech careers, alongside peers of every background and experience level.
Women in Computer Science
Women in Computer Science supports its members through networking, mentorship, and help finding scholarships and internships. The club also reaches out to local middle and high schools to introduce young girls to the possibilities of a career in tech.
