The Military Resource Center supports veterans and military-connected students as they navigate their college journey. At Bowie State University, we serve over 300 military-connected students including service members, veterans, and military families—by providing guidance on admissions, benefits, academics, and career opportunities. Our mission is to remove barriers and ensure every student has the support needed to succeed.

Bowie State University is proud to offer a college application fee waiver for prospective military connected students. This initiative serves to honor those who serve, have served, and those who have supported them.
Eligibility
Applicants must be Active-Duty Military, Reserves, National Guard, a Veteran, or a Dependent of a U.S Armed Forces member or Veteran.
How to Request a Fee Waiver
Fee waivers cannot be retroactively applied once payment has been processed. The application fee is non-refundable. Please do not submit your application until we have confirmed your waiver.
To request a fee waiver, please email the Military Resource Center at militarybenefits@bowiestate.edu and include the completed request template below along with proof of military affiliation. Once your status has been confirmed, you will receive a tuition fee waiver code by email to enter at checkout.
Requests are processed within 5-7 business days. Fee waivers can be requested at any time after the application opens and does not expire. You do not need to wait until you are ready to submit your application to request a waiver.

- Military Affiliation: (Active Duty, Veteran, Reserve / National Guard, Spouse or Dependent)
- Proof of Military Status (attach one of the following, as applicable): Orders, DD214 Of qualifying Veteran, Military ID, COE, Driver’s License with Veteran Status Indicator

Approved military scholarships and official tuition benefits designed to support your education
- Our staff isn’t paid to enroll students or secure Tuition Assistance.
- You’ll receive guidance based on your goals, not quotas or incentives.
You won’t be rushed or overwhelmed when exploring your options:- No excessive calls or emails (limited follow-ups only)
- No pressure to enroll immediately
You’ll always have time to ask questions, explore your options and make the right decision for you and your family.
Every course must be approved by both you and your military branch before enrollment:- No automatic registration
- No bundled classes without your consent
You remain in control of your schedule and your education plan.
These policies are in place to protect you and your family.
