Jan. 28-30 Virtual Operations, Campus Remains Closed

Bowie State University will continue with virtual operations for all classes and office operations through Friday, January 30, 2026. The campus will be closed to all non-essential personnel, and all campus activities are canceled. All buildings except residence halls and the dining hall will be closed. Essential personnel should report on time. This is due to the extended time required to clear the extensive snow and ice accumulation on campus. University crews are making every effort to resume campus operations, as a safe return to in-person learning and work remains our top priority. Only essential personnel and residential students are permitted access to the campus through Jan. 30. For more information, please visit BowieState.edu/weather.

False Perceptions

Thesis Statement

False Perceptions is an animated film that tackles a serious theme of mental health, particularly raising awareness of social anxiety. The film pictures this situation through a metaphorical standpoint by personifying the negative thoughts that swarm through a person's head who feels alone and afraid to express oneself. Despite the fictional element of the film, the topic is handled with care, since social anxiety is currently a serious issue that actively affects many people.

  • I always had a fascination with the visual arts, memorable characters and good storytelling. I partake in illustrating, comic making, fiction writing and animating.  My art serves as an escape from the real world. Most of which my stories take place are in alternate universes of the real world. My storytelling serves as entertainment first and societal influence next. Many of my visual character designs have inhuman details as noticeable as animalistic features or as subtle as an irregular skin tone and pointy ears.
